In response to the emerging era of remote collaboration, Qisda, under the umbrella of the Qisda Group (2352), aims to support the global trend of bilateral education and collaborative growth. The group has announced its donation of the collaborative digital whiteboard Jamboard to National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), in support of sustainable development and the demand for innovative talent cultivation. The initiative aims to stimulate more inspiration and creativity during teaching and discussion processes, fostering a collaborative platform for co-creation among students. Together with NCKU, Qisda endeavors to build a Smart Technology University City.

The donation ceremony took place on March 18th, with selected faculty and students experiencing Jamboard firsthand and sharing their innovative learning and collaborative communication experiences.

President of National Cheng Kung University, Su Hui-chen, emphasized that in the era of smart cities and sustainable development, the university aims not only to embody a smart campus but also to become an innovation base for smart cities. With the assistance of BenQ and the Qisda Group, NCKU will make good use of this gift to become a university dedicated to progress and civilization, contributing to a better future through shared learning and creation.

Chairman of BenQ, Chen Chih-hung, stated that advancements in information, networking, and cloud technologies have made collaboration easier, with increasing collaboration harnessing collective wisdom. The future is a borderless and collaborative era, where learning should be bidirectional, mutually enriching, and stimulating creativity. This vision aligns closely with the concept of mutual benefit and win-win cooperation promoted by the Qisda Group’s Big Fleet in recent years. Through collaboration with NCKU, BenQ hopes to sow the seeds of innovative education, nurturing them into a platform for innovation breakthroughs and shared learning.

NCKU and BenQ have previously collaborated on smart campus initiatives. In 2018, both parties signed a memorandum of understanding on smart campus cooperation, combining academic and industrial research and development capabilities to address aspects such as smart energy conservation, interactive teaching, and environmental safety, laying the foundation for a future smart university city.

BenQ has assisted NCKU in implementing Artificial Intelligence of Things (AIoT), effectively integrating and applying various on-campus and off-campus resource systems through a central management platform. In April 2020, when a confirmed case was detected among the basketball players at NCKU, the campus’s intelligent imaging system swiftly identified 14 contacts within a day, effectively containing the outbreak and significantly reducing the community infection rate.

Jamboard has recently been deployed on campus for use by NCKU’s future smart factories. During teaching or group discussion meetings, students and faculty can write and erase on the digital whiteboard just like on a regular whiteboard, making it easy to use. During discussions, participants can quickly drag images, add notes, and even directly capture images and information from the internet, making the discussion process lively and interesting.

Collaborating students and faculty, regardless of their location, can easily view real-time and synchronized discussion tracks through their mobile phones or tablets, providing instant feedback and contributing ideas together. At the end of the discussion, the screen can be saved to the cloud immediately, eliminating the need for additional photography, thereby greatly improving the efficiency of collaboration and meeting records, ensuring that no inspiration is lost.
