Suzhou BenQ Hospital obtains JCI international medical certification
Patient-centered, medical quality meets high international standards

Suzhou BenQ Hospital, a subsidiary of BenQ Qisda Group, passed the rigorous evaluation of the Joint Commission International (JCI: Joint Commission International) with almost perfect scores in more than 300 standard reviews and more than 1,100 measurement factors, and officially passed the JCI Certification. This not only means that the medical quality of Suzhou BenQ Hospital is in line with high international standards and ranks among the world’s high-quality hospitals, but also represents Qisda’s spirit of pursuing quality and excellence in its medical industry.

Suzhou BenQ Hospital has launched JCI accreditation work since May 2018 to comprehensively promote hospital quality and safety management, solve various problems that arise during patients’ medical treatment, and improve the medical experience. In the past 28 months and 850 days, More than 280 hospital-wide and departmental systems have been revised. Every manager and front-line employee of the hospital is fully committed to actively implementing the patient-centered goal, and has never slackened during the COVID-19 epidemic.

Due to the current epidemic, the JCI assessment was conducted simultaneously in an “on-site + remote” manner, with an assessment team composed of experts in medical, nursing, clinical, and management fields from China, Canada, and Singapore.

Alissa Peacock, the leader of this review team and a Canadian review member of the management team, was fully connected to the scene. She announced at the closing ceremony of the review: “All reviewers unanimously recommended Suzhou BenQ Hospital to pass the JCI review. There are 14 JCI sixth edition review standards. There are more than 1,100 measurement factors in each chapter, and only 3 measurement factors need to be improved by Suzhou BenQ Hospital, which is an excellent result. The hospital administrators’ participation and emphasis on quality improvement and patient safety are worthy of praise.”

The biggest feature of JCI accreditation is its focus on details and processes. Therefore, hospitals must weave in-depth medical safety nets with details, from “visible standard establishment” to “invisible internal information process improvement”, ranging from the hospital’s development strategy, System procedures, as small as every time a staff member washes their hands, must be consistent in speaking, writing, and doing. Passing the certification means that Suzhou BenQ Hospital has world-class medical service capabilities. In the future, it will continue to improve the quality of medical services, strive for excellence, and pursue the truth, goodness and beauty of human health care.
